LetsStopAIDS

The Canadian NGO LetsStopAIDS has been involved with the Dududu Drop-In Centre since 2011, when founder and president Shamin Mohamed Jr. worked at the Drop-In Centre for a period of two months through a connection with the AIDS Foundation South Africa.  In August 2013, two interns from LetsStopAIDS and the CIDA-IYIP program, arrived at the Dududu Drop-In Centre to expand the capacity of the centre to improve health outcomes and better address the diverse needs of the community.  Their focus during their six month internship has been to address HIV transmission as a symptom of greater problems of underdevelopment, and have sought to implement empowerment programs and poverty alleviation strategies at the Centre.  LetsStopAIDS has generously funded many Drop-In Centre and DYC programs, and is currently supporting the installation of satellite internet and a landline phone.
